How to test perfume before you buy a bottle
A practical way to test a fragrance on skin in India before you spend on a full bottle. Includes what we can and cannot take back.
Do not decide on a paper strip
A strip in a shop shows the opening for a minute. Your skin, sweat, and the weather decide the dry-down. Test on the inside of a forearm or the chest, where you can smell it through the day without it sitting under your nose.
Wear one new scent at a time. Two perfumes on two wrists make both of them hard to judge.
Give it a real day
Apply in the morning. Notice it on the way out, at your desk, and in the evening. A scent that is pleasant for ten minutes and harsh after two hours is a no.
If you like it across a normal day, an 8ml or 10ml decant tells you whether you still like it next week. A full bottle can wait until that answer is yes.
Returns, in plain language
Change of mind is not a return. Opened fragrance is not something we can sell again. 2ml samples are for trying; they are not returnable because the smell was not for you.
